Business Manager for Technobrain

My Current boss at the time and business manager lead to my decision to resign from my job because he believed i could do better in a sales position due to my natural way with people. That wasnot my career objective. I made a brave decision and YES I resigned.

IICD Country Manager- Uganda,

He encouraged me so much and this helped me realise that i can do it. I completed some assignments for IICD which gave me exposure and more confidence especially to carry out unsupervised assignments.

Timothy/Business partner

He like me had the same passion. He is a young dynamic man who was not afraid of risks. He too resigned from his current job due to disatisfaction. We shared the same passion. This gave birth to CERT Computer Solutions.

Events Before, During and After

Before

• Lack of Motivation for personal and career growth present in current job. My passion is making a difference. I couldnot be a sales person.
• Forced to change career from Training coordination to corporate sales which i thought wasnot something i could let anyone do to me.

During

• I Worked with IICD on a few assignments. This gave me alot of exposure because for the first time I was unsupervised and I was using my skills and abilities freely to perform.

• I had a discussion with current Business Partner on starting own ICT training support and consultancy. We then came up with a company name, made a stamp and started our company with no premises but just the stamp, name, letter head, box number and address. We registered the company 3 months later.
• Then finally on June 15, 2005 CERT Computer Solutions was born with just 2 staff members (two directors) and two desks. Our focused on onsite training and onsite support because we had no furniture.

After

• Due to commitment and excellent services, CERT computer solutions now have

• A training centre with 15 computers

• 7 full staff members ( 2 programmers, 3 trainers, 2 Computer technicians)

• A Computer workshop

• 1 School we are working with where we have installed 10 computers)

• Developed a website for Medical Access Uganda

• 15 clients and still growing strong :)

And the turning point was the moment when… Clare walked into her own rented CERT Computer solution offices

Resolutions

• Dreaming isnot enough, one should live their dream.(With Minimal Effort CERT Computer Solutions was Born)
• People come into our lives for a reason and then they move on. Utilize that chance and let go(IICD country manager)
• Where there's a reason there is a way. The sky is the limit.
